RIDE THE NEW ELECTRIC BIKES TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES ON THE ISLAND
The best way to explore the thirty miles of coast into Kailua town is on an electric bike. You will cruise past Diamond Head up the 72 around Hanauma Bay visiting Sandys Beach, the Halona Blowhole, Makapu’u Light House, the Sea Life Park, and the local town of Waimanalo. Then you will drop down the 61 into the beach town of Kailua where Lanikai is located. Lanikai Beach is consistently rated in the top 10 for the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is a beautiful place to lay out relax and enjoy the views. Kayaking and snorkeling are available also.

Head toward the ocean on Kapahulu Ave. Take a left at Kalakaua Ave. Ride next to the WAIKIKI AQUARIUM and THE WAR MEMORlAL and see KAPIOLANI PARK. After the water fountain, stay straight and explore the historic homes on Coconut Ave until it intersects Diamond Head Road. Make a right and climb to the top where views of local surfers and the DIAMOND HEAD LIGHTHOUSE await. Enjoy driving through the Beverly Hills of Oahu as Diamond Head Rd becomes Kahala Ave. Follow the stop sign to the 72. Stay on the bike path here and be prepared to ride with some pretty fast traffic against some strong winds. Please be aware of cars making right turns from the far right lane. Follow the 72 until you reach Lunalilo Home Road. Ride around KOKO HEAD CRATER by taking left onto Lunalilo Home Road, then a right at Hawaii Kai Drive and another right at Kealahou Street and a left back onto the Kalanianaole Hwy. Alternatively, to see HANAUMA BAY and KOKO CRATER entrance, continue pas Lunalilo Home Road. Don’t travel 72 around Koko Head Crater on the ocean side, go back to Lunalilo Home Road. Then, continue on 72 northwest past the SEA LIFE PARK, through WAIMANALO and past BELLOWS AIR FORCE BASE to the intersection of LANIKAI. A left turn will take you to the MAUNAWILI FALLS TRAIL or a right will take you to the ocean along Kailua Rd. Enjoy LANIKAI BEACH and head back to the shop on the same path. In Waialae, take the Kilauea Exit and make a left to stay on Kilauea underneath the freeway. Make a left onto 18th Ave and a right on Diamond Road. Pass the entrance to Diamond Head, then make a right on Paki Ave. Make a left at Kapahulu Ave, then a right on Lemon Road.
PRECAUTIONS: You need to stay off of the H-1, H-2, H-3, 61, 63 and 93. The Pali (61) is too dangerous for a bike. Please take the 72 (Kalanianiole) because it’s a more bike-friendly route. Give yourself enough time to come back, so you won’t ride in the dark.
